Mercedes-Benz Generation EQ Concept Revealed, Could Compete Tesla Soon

Mercedes-Benz has taken the covers off the automobile that will officially take the plug-in electrical car battle to Tesla. And while the Generation EQ is simply a concept at Paris Motor Show, it will be striking real-world roads within the next 3 years and will offer owners a 500km range between charges.

Power for the first EQ-badged vehicle stems from 2 electric motors, one housed in each axle for a combined output of 400hp. And while the automobile looks just like present Mercedes SUVs from a distance, on closer assessment the outside treatments and appearance are really different in order to make the automobile as slippery as possible in order to minimize air resistance. All which means that the vehicle will go further than an existing generation Tesla Model X however not as far as Volkswagen‘s proposed EV the ID, also unveiled in Paris show. It will cover to 600km on a charge, but just when it enters into production in 2020.
