Mercedes is prepping the 4th generation of its midsize SUV. Based upon these images, one can’t expect significant changes to the crossover’s looks. Anticipate the primary upgrades to the GLE-Class to take place under the skin.

Like any re-innovation, Mercedes will modify the GLE’s body to much better fit in with its family of automobiles, however the existing car’s fascia already does a great job of that. The grille and headlights will basically keep their existing shape, with some small tweaks and updates. More significant changes will take place at the tail, anticipate the brand-new GLE-Class to embrace a slimmer taillight profile and design, just like the GLC-Class, C-Class Coupe, and S-Class Coupe. The camouflage makes it tough to spot, but it looks like Mercedes will may soften he character lines on the GLE’s side, as well. That would fit with MB’s newest design language.

More remarkable modifications are under this GLE mule’s skin. The new CUV will lose some weight. Like the present GLE, Mercedes will provide gas, diesel, and plug-in powerplants, in addition to a range-topping AMG model.

The new GLE-Class will probably debut in 2018. Based on the state of this prototype, it shall be Detroit or Geneva.
