Mercedes SLS Roadster by Kicherer

by Zack Colt

The German tuning company Kicherer has taken over the AMG Mercedes SLS Roadster, in order to upgrade it’s features and looks, the result being one really satisfying in all matters.
Appearently, Kicherer’s policy about tuning is just to supplement the basic shape and power of the car, without changing any of the original features of it.

With this concept, the new car turned out much more sporty than it’s original. The most tuned part of the machine were the aerodynamics, which were also the reason for a sporty front spoiler, side skirts and a specially hand-made GT front grill. More components provided by the aerodinamics fins that can be mounted on the bonnet and on the wings. All the upgrades Kicherer installed are fabricated out of high quality carbon.
Further improvements brought to the car are the three-part 20 inch RS-1 lightweight complete wheels, that give a touch of style and complete the look of the Mercedes SLS Roadster.

In order to make driving more sporty, a coilover suspension with a socalled „Front Up“ system is mounted on the car, and to go even more further with this, the car also has the option to raise its front in order to overcome obstacles more easily.

The exhaust fumes are allowed out into the open by a stainless steel exhaust with four oval endpipes controlled by dynamic pressure in the rear of the car. An integrated valve control gives the driver the opportunity of choosing between a sonorous and discrete tone.

Kicherer has managed due to the sports air filter achieve an actual every day performance of 630 PS – instead of the standard 571 PS. The second performance level, also available, containsan exhaust manifold system and a sports catalysor that combined with the modification from the first level guarantee a top performance of 650 PS at 720 Nm torque.
After all these modifications, the SLS is able to sprint to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds and reach a sealed-off top speed of 320 km/h.
