Porsche not game to Mini challence

by Alex

Facebook had an interesting post just a few days back: that of Mini USA inviting none other than the mighty Porshce 911 S for a showdown with their Mini Cooper S. The race, according to MINI USA boss Jim McDowell would be staged at Road Atlanta and that both the cars involved would be driven by factory drivers. his sure had heated things up only to declined politely by Porshce in a letter addressed to Jim McDowell.

Detlev von Platen, head of Porsche’s US operations, in his letter to MINI said, “While your challenge seems like a fun and lighthearted campaign, we’ll stick to racing the way we have over the decades. We welcome you at Sebring, Le Mans, Daytona or any other sanctioned race where there is more at stake than T-shirts and valet parking spaces.”

The company has also gone further to place a small vido clipping depicting the greatness of the Porsche which has served as a rebuttal to MINI USA. MINI USA did come up with a good challenge and now it remains to be seen what their real intention was when they threw the challenge.

The video below gives us a glimpse of Porsche blazing racing heritage.
