by SpeedLux

Mitsubishi has recently unveiled their latest business plan called as “New Stage 2016” which gives us an idea of launching of several new models.

As per the plan, things will kick off in fiscal year 2014 when the company will launch a redesigned Triton / L200 model. A year after that in 2015, the company will introduce the new Pajero Sport / Montero Sport / Nativa. Mitsubishi is also in the process of developing a new RVR / ASX / Outlander Sport, Delica D:5 and Pajero / Montero / Shogun as well as a small and large plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. These models are slated to arrive in the fiscal year 2015 or later.

The company has also revealed that they intend to cut costs by eliminating and reducing the number of products they produce and the number of platforms that they utilize. As a result, Mitsubishi will only have 13 models and seven platforms by the year 2016.

According to the plan, Mitsubishi also aims at becoming a leader in electric vehicle technology as they expect 20% percent of their models will be electric or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles by the year 2020.
