It has always been the case for years that even though the rear passengers of a car get to enjoy interesting infotainment system, the same can’t be said for the front passenger. Yet, the luxury German automaker, BMW, is determined to change this norm. The company is currently working on the next generation BMW 7-Series and the model will reportedly have something that others don’t, that is, infotainment system dedicated to the front passenger.

According to BMW, this front passenger infotainment system will not distract the driver. As it is dedicated to the front passenger, those who sit next to the driver of the new 7-Series will be able to select a number of apps or functions to perform. The system will feature a touchscreen display and it is said to be similar to today’s smartphones or tablets. Further details about the front passenger infotainment system may still be limited at the moment but we do know one or more things about the BMW 7-Series model itself.

This luxury German sedan will come with new design for both its front and rear fascias. Judging by the accompanying image, it can be witnessed that the vehicle will come with newly designed headlamps. In addition to that, there will also be a new front bumper, new fog lamps, new kidney grille and air intakes with chrome accents.

Of course, the new 7-Series from BMW is not all about new looks. In fact, the car will be built upon a new chassis as well. This new chassis combines carbon fiber and aluminum materials. As a result, the car will be lighter by 204 kg compared to its predecessor. Last but not least, the 2016 BMW 7-Series will reportedly come with several engine variants.

Customers will get to choose whether they want three, four or even six cylinders altogether available under the hood of their new luxury sedan from the German automaker. The new 7-Series is expected to be more powerful than its older brother.
