New Mazda RX-8 is to be inspired by the Shinari concept

by Adrian Hayden

Amazing news! The Shinari concept revealed last month will be the starting point for the new generation Mazda RX-8. The Shinari concept is said to be the future of Mazda sports cars. The word to describe the Shinari concept is ‘Kodo’, which in Japanese means soul of emotion. The Shinari concept was created by studios found in the U.S., Japan and Germany. The new generation of the RX-8 will use a more advanced version of the current 1.3 liter rotary engine.

The present version of the RX-8 has 231 HP, gets to 100km/h in just 6.4 seconds and has a top speed of 234 km/h. The new RX-8 will receive the same center-opening door system installed on the current version, which makes getting in and out of the car easier. The new car will also feature a front-midship engine, rear-wheel drive and an ideal weight distribution for perfect handling.

We are looking forward to seeing how the new generation will improve the current one.
