Nissan Almera 2013 – Detail

by SpeedLux

The launch of the pint-sized Nissan Almera sedan represents the beginning of a passenger car renaissance for Nissan Australia, with four new city-sized, small and medium models set to re-energise the local line-up before the end of 2013.

ENGINE-
Expect to see the Almera make its debut with two trims, the ST and the Ti. Both are expected to be equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 75kW. This same engine equips the Micra currently. The ST will feature a manual transmission and the Ti will be available as an automatic only. The 1.5-liter is quite impressive as far as it comes to fuel economy at 6.6L/100km. A five-speed manual transmission is standard while a four-speed automatic wolud cost you around $2000.
Both models feature a multi-function computer tracking fuel consumption, providing distance-to-empty and service reminders, and other trip information.

INTERIORS-
Inside the Nissan Almera 2013 there is manual air conditioning, tilt-adjustable steering wheel.
Both the ST and Ti will feature Bluetooth capability, MP3 capable audio systems, a trip computer and convenient steering wheel mounted audio controls, climate control, adjustable rear-seat headrests and rear centre armrest with cup holders.

EXTERIORS-
The modestly equipped high-grade Almera Ti auto adds 15-inch alloy wheels, front foglights, rear spoiler, reverse parking sensors, variable intermittent wipers, smart key with push-button start.

Talking about SAFETY-
Safety remains a priority despite the low prices, with all Almeras fitted with six airbags (dual front, side and curtains), electronic stability control, anti-lock brakes (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) and brake assist.

PRICING-
Nissan Almera ST manual – $16,990
Nissan Almera ST automatic – $18,990
Nissan Almera Ti automatic – $20,990

VERDICT-
The Nissan Almera is expected to be a contender for those looking for a fuel-efficient inexpensive vehicle. While they may not be a sports car, they are well equipped for their price range offering many features that only larger higher-end models offer. The Almera is expected to give even the first-place Yaris a run for the money, continuing to increase Nissan’s presence in Australia.
