An odd looking Chevrolet Corvette caught testing

by Alex

Jalopnik has very recently revealed some of the spy photo shoots of a very odd or even a bit weird looking sports car. It is believed that these photo shoots uncover the plans about a mid-engine Corvette. However, meanwhile GM has already denied any such possibilities and terms any news about a future mid-engine Corvette as noting more than mere rumors.

An extended wheelbase Corvette with modified bodywork seems to be featured in these spied Corvette. Other prominent feature of the Corvette that was spied is availability of a lot of space behind the front seats.

Thought automobile experts from the industry are not certain about it; it is believed, considering the manufacturer plates, that a mule of the future generation Corvette C7 is being tested by the GM.

The spy photographer who snapped these pictures of, the so-called Corvette C7 car testing is being quoted to have said, “It’s a hybrid mule, it has narrow width front tires, extended body to accommodate the drive train (Corvette has a rear transmission), and, interestingly, a plug outlet cover on the ass of it? The front wheels also do not match the rear wheels. Just my thought…. since GM mentioned a hybrid Corvette sounds possible.”

It is believed that, in April of 2012, the production version of this future Corvette C7 version is likely to be commenced into manufacturing. Accordingly, by the 2013 model year, the sports vehicle would hit the showrooms for purchase by end users of the sports vehicles. It is expected that the car’s exterior design is likely to be inspired by the Stingray concept.

It has also been hightailed by some of the active readers that the manufacturer plate, as seen in the spy photos, on this vehicle does not seem to belong to Michigan. Notably all GM test vehicles are usually carrying the manufacturer plate from Michigan. It appears that the California manufacturer plate 44699 is likely to belong to Fisker. Hence, there is a high probability that this car could be assigned to the Fisker Company. This should be enough to put GM out of the equation as regard this sport cars. Beside the rear plugs, as depicted by the photographs, also explain and enhance the probability that it is most like a Fisker sport car model because Fisker is the one that primarily focuses on electric cars.

Saw this vehicle the other day inside Ford’s Dearborn proving grounds…I saw the California manufacturer plate and thought it might be a Fisker, except I’m fairly certain the engine was running, very beefy sounding. very long wheelbase too and rear end of a Corvette. I’ve come to the conclusion that this may be the next gen Ford GT. putting a corvette body on it would really throw people off the trail, still doesn’t explain the California plate unless it is being co-developed by Roush.
