Opel Zafira Tourer 1.6 CDTI headed for Geneva

by SpeedLux

Opel has disclosed plans to bring the Zafira Tourer 1.6 CDTI to the Geneva Motor Show.

It has the company’s new bespoke diesel engine, and the model has lot to offer in the form of a unique mixture of performance and fuel efficiency.

To get the kind of fuel efficiency, the 1.6-liter CDTI engine has “closed-loop combustion control” and a BlueInjection selective catalytic reduction system which reduces emissions.

The engine ejects 136 HP (100 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque which helps the model to hit a top speed of 193 km/h (120 mph).
As far as efficiency is concerned, the Zafira results in 4.1 L/100 km (57.3 mpg US / 68.8 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of 109 g/km.

The launch of the 1.6-liter CDTI engine will take place later this year and will finally replace 1.7- and 2.0-liter diesel engines.

So far we have only the engine specifications but performance details and other features are still unknown.
