Picks for car, truck/utility of year launch North American International Auto Show press days

The press seen days for the North American Auto Show formally begin with the variety of the North American Auto of the Year and Truck/Utility of the Year.

The announcements are anticipated Monday morning at Cobo Center in Detroit.

This year’s automobile finalists are the Honda Civic, Chevrolet Malibu as well as Mazda MX-5 Miata. Truck/utility finalists are the Nissan Titan XD, Honda Pilot and Volvo XC90.

Last year’s champions were the Volkswagen Golf and also Ford F-150 vehicle auto show.

Estimated of 55 auto journalists from the U.S. and Canada ballot on victors from the list of finalists.

A vehicle needs to be all new or substantially altered for eligibility.

This is the 23rd year for the honors. Organizers allow no marketing, though carmakers attempt to capitalize on the marketing value of the honours.
