2015 Polaris Slingshot patent renderings leaked

by SpeedLux

The Polaris Slingshot has been recently revealed online through leaked patent renderings.

Set to compete with the Campagna T-Rex, the Polaris Slingshot is a side-by-side trike that is scheduled to go on sale in the coming months. Actually the news about the Slingshot emerged almost a year ago and now Polaris has officially released a press release in which they have clearly confirmed plans to put the Slingshot on the production line in 2014.

While the aforementioned Campagna T-Rex comes equipped with a BMW Motorrad-derived engine with an output of 160 hp, the Polaris Slingshot will reportedly come fitted with a 4-cylinder, 2.4-liter engine taken from General Motors which will generate an output of around 200 hp (149 kW).

The interesting trike will also adopt a belt to send power to the rear wheel while other features that will form part of the vehicle include traction control, ABS and electric power steering.

From the images the model looks pretty cute and interesting and we are now waiting for it to come out in the market. Details are limited as of now but we can expect the same to be out soon in coming months.
