Renderings: 2012 Jaguar XF Estate

by Ron Grant

This new model is one of the most rumored car of the year and nobody has any idea about how it’s going to look like.

Well now a CAR’s artist’s impression reveals how the Jaguar XF wagon will look and, according to CAR’s inside sources it will be very much a sporting station wagon.

Being developed from scratch, the XF estate won’t come at a motor show this year and, because of this development from scratch, this project is considerably more expensive and complex.

CAR’s sources suggest the XF estate will be the same 4961mm length as the saloon – and the overhang will be shared too. Rumor has it that the XJ’s wraparound rear pillars will translate to the wagon, giving Jaguar’s second load lugger a more striking rump than the X-type estate’s.

The British brand promises, despite the package restraints, the XF estate will be as practical as the Audi A6 Avant and BMW 5-series Touring.

Expect to see the new Jaguar XF estate at a European motor show in 2012, probably Geneva or Paris. Considering that agons don’t cut it in the States, an American debut is unlikely. No details about pricing were revealed.
