Report: Nissan to show a Toyota GT 86 competitor at the Tokyo Motor Show

by SpeedLux

According to a latest report, Nissan will unveil a Toyota 86 / Subaru BRZ competitor at the Tokyo Motor Show to be held next month.

The report states that the model will be a concept similar to the production version that borrows styling cues from the company’s past models. However that clearly sounds a little vague but Nissan has reportedly confirmed that it would not be a “Z” car.

The concept has been supposedly designed to gauge customer reaction to an entry-level sports car. If the results turn out to be favorable, the model could go into the production phase and would be fitted with a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that would generate an output of 197 hp (147 kW).

The Toyota GT 86 competitor is expected to be shown alongside another concept which is simply being described as “crazy” by the company and again we can only say that it is nothing less than vague till further details are reveled by the company about the model and the other concept. So we will have to wait till further details are revealed about this model.
