Spy Shots: Is This The Next-Generation Of Porsche 911 Turbo S?

by Sebastian Bivin

So far we’ve seen plenty of spy shots of the next-generation Porsche 911 Turbo version, with and without camouflage, but this is the first time that we’re probably seeing the upcoming Porsche 911 Turbo S. The spy photographers from CarPix managed to take some shots with this new, misterious car, which probably is the next-generation of Turbo S.

Maybe you’re asking why do we say that this could be the next-generation Turbo S… Well, all other 911 Turbo prototypes we have seen so far had two big single exhaust pipes (one on each side), but this model has a quad pipe layout.

Should this be the Turbo S, expect a powerboost between 30-50 horses more then the (not underpowered) standard Turbo, so this beauty will be a real beast on the roads if it’s so.

Considering that the 991 Turbo will pack an estimated 550 horsepower—bettering both the current base car’s 500 and even the Turbo S’s 530, the next-generation of Turbo S could reach even 600 HP.

Keep in mind that Turbo S will keep almost the same features like the standard Turbo, except some little changes overall and, the most important change – a big powerboost at the engine (30-50HP).

The current Turbo S goes from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds and rips the quarter-mile in 10.8 at 129 mph. That trails a Bugatti Veyron to 60 by just 0.2 second, falling behind in the quarter by 0.7. Now imagine the next Turbo’s top speed will inch from today’s 194 mph closer to the magic 200-mph mark. If Turbo will be closer to the 200 mph mark, Turbo S, with more extra power, will succed to exceed this limit? Of course, we don’t know yet because is too soon, but keep in touch and you’ll find out at the right time.

Below, in the photo gallery you can see some spy pictures with this new model (probably tha next-generation of Turbo S) and also some spy pictures, taken a week ago, with the 2013 Porsche Turbo so you can compare it.
