Subaru WRX confirmed for early 2014 launch – report

by SpeedLux

Subaru has recently revealed some new details about the 2015 WRX.

Speaking to one of the car magazine, Australia Managing Director Nick Senior said that according to him the real DNA of WRX over the time has been its driving credentials, and from the factory point of view, certainly the driving experience of the new WRX was paramount. He further added that he’s already test driven the model and he was pretty confident that it will not disappoint existing customers despite being designed to appeal to a wider audience.

Senior also confirmed that a high-performance WRX STI is under development and will quite likely be introduced a couple of months after the standard WRX goes on sale in early next year.

As previously reported, the 2015 Subaru WRX is expected to be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show and will come fitted with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that would produce at least 265 hp (198 kW). We expect the WRX STI to also use the same engine but will come with an increased output of at least 305 hp (227 kW).

We can expect more details to be out soon as the launch of Subaru WRX nears.
