Tacky-Colored McLaren P1 Spotted in China

by SpeedLux

Basically, the McLaren P1 is an ultra-luxurious, exotic super sports car. Nevertheless, that does not seem to be the case when the car heads to China where everything seems to be possible as long as you have the right amount of cash available. Very recently, a McLaren P1 has been spotted in China, covered in a paint scheme that looks very tacky, to say the least.

Believe it or not, the car features a combination of the bright yellow and metallic green colors on the exterior. It’s enough to say that this does not represent the true identity of the exotic built by the British automaker, McLaren, at all. Such a paint scheme does nothing but only ruins the entire design of the P1. The yellow color can be seen covering the roof, the bumpers and also the hood of the car. On the other hand, the metallic green paint covers the car’s fenders, wings and also its pillars.

Yet, as if that is not enough, this McLaren P1 spotted in China has an even tackier paint scheme applied onto its rear spoiler. The spoiler is covered in blue, yellow and red. At a glance, this makes the rear spoiler of this particular P1 looks like a Romanian flag, only in a reversed position.

At this point of time, it is still unclear as to whether this very tacky paint scheme is simply a body wrap disguising the car or it is a real paint job done by the team at the McLaren Special Operations division. If the latter is to be the case, this should prove to be a total embarrassment for the McLaren brand. Thing is, this will degrade the credibility of the brand, giving the impression that McLaren is willing to do just about anything to its cars as long as the money is good.
