Toyota Motor recalls 66,830 Lexus cars in China

The Chinese unit of Toyota Motor is going to recall 66,830 imported Lexus brand automobiles in the nation over possible safety concerns, China’s quality watchdog stated today.

Some Lexus models, made in between June 2014 and December 2016, have issues with their braking software, China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine stated on its website.

In October, Toyota released a recall for about 5.8 million cars in Japan, Europe and China over possibly defective air bag inflators made by Takata Corp.

In June, The notice prompted customers to instantly call dealerships for examination and stated present stock automobiles will be offered in the absence of flaws.

Toyota has significant history in China, In August 2014, Toyota announced it would be cutting its spare-parts costs in China by up to 35%. China has also participated in the Toyota’s plug-in hybrid electric vehicle project that began in 2007.
