Toyota Prius to be launched in India in December

Toyota seems to be all set to release its halo hybrid design, the Prius in India. The new Toyota Prius was first revealed in India at the 2016 Auto Expo.

Toyota will introduce the Prius hybrid in India during the month of December and the new vehicle will gain from the federal government’s incentive policy for eco-friendly vehicles.

The Prius is controlled by a 1.8-litre fuel engine which is adjusted to a dual electrical motor system for a output of 166hp and 305Nm of torque.

The Prius utilizes a 8.8 kW/h lithium-ion battery pack to offer power to the motors returns a mileage of 21.26 km/l. The Prius prime version of the vehicle only emits 32g/km of CO2.

The new Prius likewise looks pretty different from the previous generations of the car with sharp angles all over, especially at the front which is obtained from the Mirai hydrogen powered automobile. At the back, the boomerang style taillamps, actually do get eyeballs all over.

Toyota has sold more than nine million hybrids since 1997 and over four million those have worn the Prius badge.

The Prius shall cost around Rs. 40 lakhs ($59,444) ex-showroom, when it strikes Indian roads.
