Toyota ‘Supra Successor’ May Feature 400-Horsepower Hybrid Powerplant

by SpeedLux

The suspense of what would be Toyota Supra successor is going to be like still continues. All types of rumors are making rounds such as it being an all-electric car and so on. Latest rumor is that may be a hybrid car as reported by MotorTrend magazine recently.

The upcoming car may be a result of team effort of Toyota and BMW. If the rumors are to be believed, the car may be built on GT86 platform of Toyota and the same may be used for upcoming model of BMW Z4 series. The new Supra car may use 2.5 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder hybrid engine which can generate upto 400 hp instead of 2.0 liter engine that is used by GT86. Another possibility is the use of 3.5 liter V-6 hybrid engine that can be used.

The exterior look is also not very clear but as the rumors go, the look may be inspired by FT-HS hybrid concept that was unveiled way back in 2007 Detroit Motor show.

The new Toyota Supra successor may be launched somewhere in 2017 and the first concept may be revealed this year in the upcoming Tokya Motor Show.
