Unichip releases Nissan 350Z new ECU upgrade

by Ron Grant

The 370Z might have taken the reigns from the 350Z but the tuning world just can not have enough of the sports car so we see different upgrades coming from all directions for this Japanese speed monster.

Recently, Unichip introduced a new U-connect plug and play ECU for the 350Z. The small device boosts the power of the car by adding about 20bhp which jacks up the peak output of its V6 engine to 284bhp from 264bhp. Likely, the torque of the 350Z is boosted by an additional 26 pound-feet upping the figures to 262 lb-ft from 236 lb-t.

Unichip also claims that the U-Connect ECU can keep up to 5 maps and accommodate additional modifications like turbocharging of the engine.

The new ECU can be used for 350Z that was produced between 2003 and 2009, and those which has a part number tagged as PPNIS01.0. The new 350 ECU from Unichip is being marketed in the United Kingdom by their 28 dealers spread across the country.
