Volkswagen gets final clearance from KBA for diesel repairs

Volkswagen stated on Wednesday it has received all clearances from Germany’s automobile authority KBA to repair diesel cars fitted with illegal emission-control software.

The amount of diesel vehicles approved to this day by the KBA for repair work amounts to about 9 million models, a Volkswagen spokesman informed, including German regulative approval does not apply to vehicles in the United States and Canada.

Last month, Volkswagen’s chairman Hans Dieter Pötsch was reported to have came under investigation in Germany.
