Volkswagen Teases Hybrid SUV Concept Before Beijing Auto Show

by SpeedLux

Volkswagen teased a conceptual model of a hybrid SUV prior the Beijing Automobile Show that highlights luxury and advanced innovation, consisting of a lounge-style interior and an interactive digital screen system.

The online video teaser (and an e-mail from Volkswagen) about the car is light on information. VW states more will be exposed as closer to the opening of the Beijing Auto Show on April 25.

The high-end SUV concept will consist of new digital display screen systems aimed at travelers, not a lot the driver. It’s a design aspect that’s implied to attract well-heeled consumers who might otherwise be shuttled around by a motorist.

The concept SUV will obtain a plug-in hybrid powertrain with 376 horse power and an electrical range of about 31 miles. The anticipated combined fuel usage is 78 miles per gallon. The car would speed up 0 to 62 mph in 6 seconds, and have a top speed of 139 mph.
