VolksWagen- Ten Years of Transparent Factory in Dresden Part4

by Sweta

The crazy Germans

The list of astonishing, perplexing and curious could go on to write for a long time. For example, the anecdote of the two different types of wood floors in the factory hall, which often raise the question whether the light wood was out. Of course not! The bright parquet, Canadian maple is installed there, where the car is still on the tape. Are the darker, German bog oak is in contrast to the areas where the Phaeton will have traveled on their own wheels – because it is durable. Shake the latest here mainly foreign guests feel like my head and in her image of the “crazy Germans” confirmed.

And among the 100,000 visitors who annually can be impressed by the Glass Factory, are of course many foreign guests, especially from the nearby Czech Republic, but also from around the world. Most of them leave the hallowed halls again but on foot. For, to take his own home with Phaeton, is granted only a few.

Theatrical delivery

But not only is the assembly of the Phaeton that is celebrated here in Dresden, and the handover to the customer a unique spectacle. Place in a large hall like delivery in Wolfsburg, Ingolstadt or Sindelfingen buyers wait in a private, cozy lounge at the moment in which her personal car is ready to take over.

In the actual delivery room then moves on almost theatrical way, the Phaeton, insulated with light and soft music, an elevator from the catacombs of the Transparent Factory upward to finally go on to customers. Of course, not without a detailed briefing – and only after a successful test run. Because every vehicle that leaves the production is checked by a VW engineer on a 30 km long route again.

Then they can finally start, the first ride in the Phaeton, the great gate goes up and over the bridge it goes out into the world. And at first it feels meters: The effort, in the VW’s Transparent Factory operates for each Phaeton is worthwhile. What you will notice this that we will soon say – because we were allowed to mark the tenth anniversary of a VW Phaeton V8 take away from Dresden. Congratulations, and on the next ten years!
