This Woman Gets Her Stolen Mustang Back after 28 Years

by SpeedLux

When you own a car like the Mustang, it is only natural that you caress it so much you don’t ever want to part from it. Unfortunately, there are times in this life when you have no option but to kiss your beloved car goodbye. This was exactly what happened to this particular woman from Salinas, California, a long time ago.

As it turned out, Lynda Alsip, a US citizen who lives in Salinas, California, once spent some money on the 1967 Ford Mustang. She bought the car back in the year 1984. At that moment, Alsip was only seventeen years old. She afforded the car after saving no less than $800 working at a grocery store. The woman even registered a plate that reads ‘LYNDA67’. Obviously, that is to mark her name and birth year. Unfortunately, Alsip did not get to enjoy the car for as long as she would have wanted to. In the year 1986, Alsip found her car gone from the apartment complex where she lived in. Ever since that moment, Alsip has yet to come across her beloved Mustang.

However, only recently, a man has reportedly tried to register a Ford Mustang at the DMV at this time of the year. Ironically, the man is also from Salinas, California. The man claims that he legitimately purchased the vehicle back in the year 1991 as a project vehicle. However, the DMV fails to find any such record. As such, the DMV decided to deliver the case to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Here, Officer Christopher Menchen tried to dive into the records and he finally found a matching one.

The officer came across a stolen vehicle record that came from the year 1986. According to the record, the 1967 Ford Mustang was, and still is, rightfully owned by Alsip’s mother. The green Mustang was later retrieved from the garage belonging to the man mentioned earlier and as it turns out, the car has always been there in the man’s garage ever since 1991. The case is now being investigated and it may take well than three months, it seems. Thankfully, however, the CHP has decided to let Alsip reunite once again with her favorite youth car.

Unfortunately, the car is now in a very bad condition that it is not even possible to drive it any longer. Thankfully, the car has its vanity license plate intact. To find out more, the adjacent video may come in handy.
