Ford expands Takata air bag recall, concerning over 800,000 automobiles

Ford Motor stated last week it will recall about 816,000 automobiles as it expanded previous actions impacting models with Takata air bags.

The move brings the numerous automobiles with Takata air bag inflators recalled worldwide by Ford to 3 million, the majority of them North America.

The new recall by Ford follows one on Monday by Honda Motor for about 1.3 million automobiles in the United States. That brought the overall of U.S.-registered Honda automobiles recalled for Takata problems to about 11.4 million.
