A 1977 Ford Escort MK2 R1800 which the late Colin McRae tested will be auctioned on February 22, 2014 at Race Retro by Silvestrone Auctions.

The vehicle was developed and built by Prepfab Motorsport Engineering way back in 1977 and was tested by Colin McRae himself. His father, Jimmy McRae, drove the car to victory in the 2006 Roger Albert Clark Rally while two years later his brother Alister McRae took the win in the Colin McRae Memorial Rally with the same car. In the year 2009, the car went through a rebuild process and after that it took part in the 2010 and 2011 Rally Clásico Isla Mallorca as well.

The 1977 Ford Escort MK2 RS1800 Gp4 Historic Rally Car is estimated to fetch a price in the range of 65,000 and 85,000 GBP at the auction and will come bundled with the MSA stage rally logbook.

We have to say that owning such an historic car would be certainly a matter of great pride whosoever wins the bid and we can definitely expect large number of car lovers and fans to participate in this bid.
