BMW has officially revealed the Concept Active Tourer Outdoor which will be showcased at the OutDoor Friedrichshafen fair that will be held in Germany.
Looking pretty similar to last year’s Concept Active Tourer which made its appearance at the Paris Motor Show, the dimensions of the concept are 4350mm long, 1833mm wide and 1576mm tall, with a wheelbase spanning at 2670mm. It’s a plug-in hybrid that makes use of a 1.5-liter transversely-mounted gasoline engine driving the front wheels and generates output of 190 HP (140 kW). The average fuel consumption is expected to be 2.5 liters / 100 km (94 mpg US or 113 mpg UK) and CO2 emissions of less than 60 g/km.
The BMW Concept Active Tourer can be driven only on electric power for 12-19 miles (20-30 km) and in hybrid mode will be able to accelerate to 0-62 mph (0-100 kmph) in less than 8 seconds, and comes with a top speed of 125 mph (200 kmph).
As of now, the company has not revealed its plans for a production version but we can surely expect that these two concepts will influence the upcoming 1-Series GT which should be out before the end of the current year.
