It’s knew that the German brand, BMW plans to refresh its lin-up with a new M3 model, which will be available only in Coupe and Convertible models. Still, Autowereld.com published today a series of spy pictures that shows a test mule which looks like a sedan with four doors, claiming that this is the new BMW M3, codenamed F3x.
The upcoming BMW M3 is reportedly going to get an all-new six-cylinder engine boosted by three turbos. Two of these turbos are conventional units connected to exhausts, and the other is powered by electricity. This way, the total output is expected to be around 450hp.
The new changes include carbon fiber-reinforced plastic body panels, which are as light as carbon fiber but less expensive and easier to repair, so the next M3 model will also be lighter. According to Autowereld.com, it may take up to 50% weight reduction per part yield compared to current materials.
Considering that the current model is priced at $55,900 – $67,550 and the upcoming one is will be more ‘hight-tech’, the 2014 BMW M3 will probably exceed the $70-75,000 limit. These are all the information at this time, but stay tuned for more in the upcoming months.
