2014 Lexus RC Convertible rendered

by SpeedLux

Since we have not got the chance to view the first images of the new Lexus RC Coupe, there are chances that renderings will now start for the convertible variant. We have come across a new rendering that has been made by artist Theophilus Chin and gives a first look at what the model could look like.

Answering the question of Lexus going with a hard-top or soft-top, Theophilus stated his preference for the soft-top which would certainly assist the model to have better performance figures but it isn’t as practical as the heavier hard-top option.

If Lexus goes for an open-top variant, we can expect it to come fitted with the same engine options employed by its sibling. This would include a range topping V6 3.5-liter gasoline mill and a hybrid option that consists of a 2.5-liter engine and an electric motor. There are speculations that we could also be treated to a hardcore RC F Convertible. Rumors have stated a powerful 5.0-liter V8 engine is set to be fitted outputting around 455 hp (339 kW) and 543 Nm (401 lb-ft) of torque.

As of now nothing is confirmed and so we will have to wait for details to be released about the convertible variant.
