Hennessey Performance is working hard on their Lotus Elise-based supercar that uses a modified Corvette ZR1 engine.
World debut is already this March at the Geneva Motor Show, and to keep the interest high Hennessey has released new renderings and also pictures from the shop to show how far they are with the actual car.
Hennessey has also released performance numbers, which are impressive and also little hard to believe. We have no doubt that Henneessey can get 1000 hp and 950 lb-ft of torque from a twin turbo V8 engine, but to claim this 2395 lbs mid-engined supercar reaches 60 mph (96 km/h) in 2.2 seconds sounds unbelievable. With a 6-speed manual and rear wheel drive it just seems impossible to get all this power on the road that fast.
0-200 mph (321 km/h) is expected in 14.5 seconds and top speed is 262 mph (421 km/h), making it the fastest production car. That’s of course if they can prove such speeds.
