Just some time ago, an automotive magazine from Swiss, the Automobile Revue, published quite a comprehensive story regarding the super sports car from Britain, the McLaren 675LT. Now, the British automaker has taken the liberty of unveiling its latest creation officially. To tell the truth, the car is actually not scheduled for debut at least until this year’s Geneva Motor Show event finally opens its doors to the public. However, probably due to the leakage of information here and there, McLaren has decided to accelerate the introduction of the vehicle.
As has been reported before, this latest creation by McLaren is actually meant to pay tribute to the company’s highly legendary F1 GTR Long Tail of the 1997 model year. As such, the McLaren 675LT has to have a high performance. This performance is going to come from a 3.8L V8 engine with twin turbochargers. This engine gives the vehicle a power output and torque of 675 hp and 700 Nm, respectively, when it reaches its peak performance.
Apart from its huge engine and hence, power, this latest vehicle model from the British automotive marquee is considerably light as well. The car weighs in at only 1,230 kg. Thanks to that, it takes the vehicle no more than 2.9 seconds to accelerate from a completely stationary position to reach a velocity of 100 km/h. Yet, to go from 0 to 200 km/h, the car needs no more than 7.9 seconds. As for the top speed, it is rated at 330 km/h.
According to the British company, the McLaren 675LT is going to be available in one of four new paint finishes. These finishes are the Napier Green, Silica White, Delta Red and Chicane Grey. All these four new paint jobs are going to be offered with the company’s Heritage Orange hue.
Despite having unveiled the car officially, McLaren will still arrange a public premiere of its 675LT come March 3, 2015, when the 2015 Geneva Motor Show eventually kicks off.
