Ford provides free charging for C-Max Energi

by David Bond

Ford has launched a motivational program for the 2016 C-Max Energi, providing totally free charging for new customers or lessees.

Teaming with NRG Energy, the car manufacturer promises 3 years of gratis charging at EVgo terminals– but only in California and Maryland. A charge card will provide vehicle drivers with unrestricted four-hour sessions at more than 500 places.

When linked to a 240-volt power source, the C-Max Energi’s 7.6-kWh battery can be completely charged in around 2.5 hours. In contrast, a standard 110-volt home electrical outlet needs seven hours to fill up an exhausted battery.
