Bugatti Veyron Super Sport has been officially re-crowned as the world’s fastest production car by the Guinness World Records recently. The team at Guinness World Records had earlier stated that it had come to their notice that that the car had its speed limited deactivated during the run and so there was an oversight in adjudication of the ‘Fastest production car’ title to Bugatti Veyron Super Sport and so the title was stripped from the vehicle.
The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport had hit a top speed of 267.8 mph when the record was set in July 2010 but all 30 production cars are limited to just 258 mph. The record prior to this belonged to SSC Ultimate Aero TT which originally reached a speed of 256.1 mph and with the title being taken from Veyron earlier; it meant that SSC Ultimate Aero TT would have become the world’s fastest production car.
This is great news for the company and as they were pretty confident that they have not violated any rules of the race and they will surely prove in due course that their Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is clean and deserved to be called as the world’s fastest production car.
