BMW rules out i M models – report

by SpeedLux

BMW has recently announced that they plan to keep their two sub-brands separate which means the hopes for BMW i8 M coming out takes a back seat.

BMW’s Head of Technology Communications, Cypselus von Frakenberg said while speaking in an interview at the ongoing Frankfurt Motor Show that it would not make any sense to mix these two sub-brands in one car. He further stated that a joint-model isn’t necessary and there will be no M i-car in the future.

In fact, his comments were well supported by BMW M’s Head of Product Management, Carsten Pries, who told to one of the publications that these are two different operations and there is not going to be any fluctuation from BMW M to BMW i or any big transfers going the other way.

Well thatÄ‚Ë Ă˘â€šÂ¬Ă˘â€žË s not all, Pries also further downplayed the possibility of an M1 successor by stating that from a model portfolio point of view and from a strategic perspective, one has to wonder how many super sports cars one would need.

Really a disappointing news for the car lovers has everyone was waiting for a positive announcement to happen but as of now there one has to be content with this only.
