Bugatti Chiron, the successor to the supercar Bugatti Veyron

by SpeedLux

It is known that Bugatti has has been planning to replace its supercar Bugatti Veyron for four years and now news is out that the new Bugatti Chiron is set to do just that. Set to be unveiled sometime next year, the Chiron is set to be significantly more powerful, quicker and faster. As far as we know the Chiron is likely to have the same basic quad-turbochaged 8.0 litre W16 engine as the Veyron. Thus the new hypercar should have a horsepower of 1500 and capable of reaching 0 to 100 km/h in just over 2 seconds before topping out at over 450 km/h. The Chiron also have a revised seven-speed dual clutch transmission and all-wheel drive system featuring torque vectoring technology. The technology helps distribute power to each wheel according to steering angle and traction, among other things, resulting in quicker and more stable cornering.

Based on its predecessor, the Chiron also shares similar carbon fiber architecture but reports suggest that more that 90 percent of its parts would be brand new or revised. These parts would be stronger and lighter in an effort to ensure that the Chiron is lighter than the Veyron. Automobile Magazine reports that the Chion will be more spacious than the Veyron and outward visibility should be improved. Boost will be increased and at least two turbos will be electrically driven. These changes should allow the engine to produce a total output of 1,500 HP (1,103 kW) and break records of 431km/h with 882kW of the Bugatti Veyron.
