A lot of car lovers want to get their hands on a Ford (F) GT, however there will not be any golden tickets for about 6,000 confident buyers.

In April, Ford said that anyone interested in the GT might submit an application for a possibility to acquire among 500 GTs, the limited-edition supercar taking on the similarity Lamborghini. Ford stated Friday it got an overall of 6,506 applications globally, including “hundreds” that included video overtures.

The Blue Oval has started examining submissions. According to Ford, it will start informing the fortunate winners in the next 90 days.

It’s not a surprise that demand is far going beyond production of the GT, which was previewed at the Detroit Car Show, previous year. Ford is going to make just 250 GTs each year. The month-long application procedure covered the very first two years of production.

The possibilities of getting a call from Ford might depend upon a variety of elements, such as whether applicants are current Ford customers. Ford also asked GT fans to note the automobiles already in their collection and describe their function as a public influencer. Ford showed that personal videos might enhance the chances. Candidates were motivated to make 60-second videos showing why they would be a great GT owner.
