The automaker from US that is also known as the Blue Oval, Ford, has reportedly trademarked the moniker ‘EcoBeast’. No, this is not a misspelling of the company’s EcoBoost engine trademark. The latter has been used by the company for a number of its vehicle lineups, namely the Ford Focus and Fiesta ST, the F-150 Tremor, Taurus SHO and even on the new Mustang model with turbocharger as well. However, the company has now officially filed a new trademark with Uncle Sam.
As reported by the AutoBlog, quoting the staffs over at Motorlix, the company enlists its new moniker in the ‘automobiles and automobile engines’ category. Unfortunately, no one seems to know for sure yet what the US automaker is actually planning to launch with this new moniker. Is it a new range of engines? Well, at this moment, for all we know, everything is possible.
Yet again, it is worth considering how often the company files a trademark with Uncle Sam and yet never uses those trademarks. However, considering how popular and massively used the EcoBoost moniker is, it is not quite likely at all that Ford will simply file the EcoBeast moniker and then forget it completely. The question now is what kind of vehicle lineups that the company will use this new moniker on. According to the staffs at Motorlix, there are reasons to believe that the company will use the EcoBeast label on something related to the Ford F-150. After all, the Blue Oval was recently spotted testing its new SVT Raptor.
Anyway, anyone who can’t wait to find out more about the company’s new EcoBeast moniker, they won’t have to wait for too long. The US automaker is expected to bring its performance merchandises to the upcoming Detroit Auto Show that is bound to open its doors in 2015.
