Brazil automakers initially thought they would have to suspend production in April, but the spread of coronavirus has forced faster cuts.

About 647 people in Brazil have been confirmed as being infected with the coronavirus. The virus has killed about 7 people in the country.

In Argentina, 128 people have been affected with coronavirus and the virus has killed 3 people in the country.
