Ford suspending production in Brazil, Argentina due to coronavirus outbreak

Ford Motor on Thursday stated it will postpone production in Brazil and Argentina starting next week because of the coronavirus outbreak, joining General Motors and Mercedes Benz which have also announced such measures in Brazil.

Brazil automakers initially thought they would have to suspend production in April, but the spread of coronavirus has forced faster cuts.

About 647 people in Brazil have been confirmed as being infected with the coronavirus. The virus has killed about 7 people in the country.

In Argentina, 128 people have been affected with coronavirus and the virus has killed 3 people in the country.
