Ford revealed Wednesday that it will be introducing a pilot program to work with individuals who have autism.
The pilot program, identified FordInclusiveWorks, begins on June 1, and will provide people with autism the opportunity to operate in Ford’s product development company. The pilot program is collaborating with Autism Alliance of Michigan to assist those with autism gain real-world work experience by taking part in an on-site training program.
Ford specified that the program will not just benefit those with autism, but will assist Ford’s item development team also. One example of work individuals will participate in is logging and prepping tires for test cars. Ford pointed out that this process is extremely detail-oriented and structured, which numerous people with autism possess the skills had to perform this particular task.
Ford executive vice president Raj Nair stated that Ford is dedicated to making people’s lives better, and making Ford into a more diversifying and comprehensive workforce.
