Former Israeli security chief collaborates to make unhackable cars

by SpeedLux

Leading Israeli security representatives are teaming up with Volkswagen to establish cybersecurity technology for unhackable vehicles.

Volkswagen revealed Wednesday that it’s formed a brand-new firm– CyMotive Technologies– with the help of top-level Israeli professionals to develop innovative cybersecurity solutions for next generation linked cars.

The former head of the Israel Security Agency, Yuval Diskin, will head the operation as chairman.

Diskin is the equivalent of a previous director of the FBI– so he’s somebody you don’t wish to tinker. He retired from the leading post in 2011 to get into the technology scene.

Another two Israeli professionals are joining him to run the new company– Tsafrir Kats and Tamir Bechor.

During the past three years, technology professionals have been demonstrating how they can hack into cars, which can cause exceptionally harmful circumstances for drivers.

In 2015, Chrysler recalled 1.4 million cars after finding that they could be remotely hacked.
