Hyundai Motor prepares to include electric vehicles (EV) in its Montgomery assembly line in the United States, marking the automaker’s first EV production in the country.
The move was reported by Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama on Tuesday.
The automaker said it prepares to invest $300 million to build the Electrified Genesis GV 70 and a hybrid version of the Santa Fe at its manufacturing center.
In February, the automaker said it plans to hire 300 people this year for the plant, and they are increasing the volume with a weekend job fair.
The assembly line jobs pay $16.62 to $25.85 per hour, with a two-year wage progression.
The job benefits consist of medical, dental and life insurance, paid vacation and holidays, and a tuition assistance program, along with other benefits.
