The Mazda Takeri is the Concept that points to the not-yet-released Mazda 6, a vehicle meant to take on the BMW 3 Series and the Ford Mondeo.
The design is pretty much the one to be found in the future 6. The exterior looks futuristic, much like the interior. Aggressive front and rear fascia give the car an even more modern look, while the rhombus-shaped infotainment system on the inside does the exact same thing. The cabin feels like a hi-tech lounge, with tan-colored seats and a beautiful dashboard layout. Luxurious, quality surfaces are to be found all-around.
20-inch wheels, rear LED’s, and wing mirrors are some of the elements which will remain unchanged in the Mazda 6 production car.
The engine will be a 2.2-liter SkyActiv that brings 148 horsepower. The output will be connected to a six-speed transmission that already exists in the CX-5 SUV production model.
The Mazda 6 will emit about 109g/km of CO2 and allow a top range of 1000 miles, thanks to Mazda’s i-stop stop-start technology and i-Eloop regenerative braking.
There is yet no word on a release date, but it is likely not to be too far into the future. It may be sometime this year (towards the end), or in the next one. When it does, we will fill you in with more details.
