McLaren is Planning for a Successor for 650S in 2018

McLaren is coming up with a new sports car called P14 to replace the 650S. The 650S replaced the 12C in 2014.The new P14 is expected to arrive by 2018. P14 will feature a new design that will form the basis of design for all future McLaren models. Some of the parts it will retain from the previous model are 3.8L V8 twin turbocharged engine, front bumper and side-mounted air intakes.

The maximum horsepower for the new supercar will be increased to 660 hp to compete against the Ferrari 488 GTB. It can reach at least 62 mph within 3 seconds. It can travel at a top speed of 205 mph. The output of the car will surpass 641bhpof in the 650S P14 will be an even crazier car compared to the P1 hypercar according to Frank Stephenson, the design director for McLaren. McLaren planned to introduced an open top variant that is equipped with a folding hard top roof about a year after launching it as a coupe. The open top variant will look like the 650S Spider. Both the 650S Spider and 650S coupe were launched at the Geneva motor show in 2014. The development of the car is still in the early stage so no one knows its exact appearance.
