McLaren has been very busy lately with their 650S that replaced the discontinued 12C, production of P1 supercar, as well as the upcoming entry-level P13 sports car.
In addition McLaren seems to be working on a new supercar that will slot above the 650S and below the sold-out P1.
McLaren spokesperson has confirmed to Automotive News Europe that the company is also working on another supercar that will be launched in 2016.
The new model will be positioned between the 650S and the P1 and is expected to go into production soon after the entry-level P13 is in production and the production for the P1 is ended.
The new model will reportedly continue using the familiar carbon fiber monocoque chassis and a company’s twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 engine that will be heavily updated to produce over 700 horsepower.
This new supercar is expected to cost approximately £400,000 ($673,400) and the styling will be likely heavily influenced by the P1 supercar, though it would be great to see a different styling as the 650S and P1 are at the front already very similar.
