Next BMW Z4 May be Built on Toyota GT86 Platform

by David Bond

The two of the biggest car makers, BMW and Toyota, recently entered into an arrangement to combine their technologies for at least two upcoming models – the next generation BMW Z4 sports model and Toyota Supra successor.

If the rumors are to be believed, these cars may be built on GT86 platform of Toyota. The new Supra car may use 2.5 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder hybrid engine which can generate upto 400 hp instead of 2.0 liter engine that is used by GT86. Another possibility is the use of 3.5 liter V-6 hybrid engine that can be used.

The upcoming BMW Z4 may be launched somewhere in late 2015.
