BMW is preparing the next generation variant of its 7-series flagship model. Well, the company has not revealed anything in respect to its upcoming 7-series actually. However, someone has managed to snatch several images of the vehicle during testing. It seems that the heavy camouflage the luxury German automaker applies onto its new 7-Series model can’t prevent prying eyes from spotting the vehicle.
It is ironic seeing how the luxury German marquee is still trying to cover up the successor to the present generation 7-Series model, you know, keeping in mind that a new BMW 730d model was already spotted as well during the last New Year’s Eve. Back then, the 730d was spotted completely naked, without any sorts of camouflage whatsoever. Now, the upcoming flagship model from the German company has been spied again, this time on the I20, in the vicinity of Balch Springs, Texas, US. The car has been seen featuring a standard wheelbase and it seems like the final test is well underway. As such, it is quite likely that the car will be making its world premiere in September this year, during the Frankfurt Motor Show event.
Interestingly enough, it seems that this flagship model from the German automaker will be offered in a new entry level diesel variant as well. This one should come with a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine which benefits from 260 HP of power output. On the other end, customers can also lay their hands on the BMW M750i, a variant that will be offered with a 4.4L V8 engine with twin turbochargers. This one should be able to deliver more than 600 HP of power output. Yet, if that is not enough, customers can still go for an even higher variant, one with a 6.6L V12 engine. Or, for those environmentalists out there, they may as well consider buying the plug-in hybrid variant instead, mixing a conventional 4-cylinder engine with a single electric motor unit.
Though the 2016 BMW 7-Series is expected to make its debut at Frankfurt September this year, we can probably expect to see more revealing images and details of the vehicle ahead of the event.
