If you happen to be waiting for the South Korean automaker, Hyundai, to launch its next generation Elantra model, well, it seems that you are in luck. There has been an image leaked on the World Wide Web just recently and it seems more than likely that this image in particular actually depicts the 2016 model year Hyundai Elantra.
Judging by the leaked image, it seems that the South Korean sedan will be sporting quite an evolutionary design, in addition to a compact size. The car also seems to borrow some of the styling cues from its brothers, the i30 and i40 facelifts. The supposed Elantra is seemingly going to sport a radiator front grille, to begin with. In addition to that, the car will also have its front grille surrounded by chrome bars. This gives the car a similar look to the 2016 Hyundai Elantra test mule spotted some time earlier in 2015. Other notable components of the vehicle include projector headlamps and vertically designed LED daytime running lights.
In its home country, South Korea, the vehicle also has another name, that is, the Avante. It is said that the car will make its debut in its home country first and sales are to start there in mid-2015. The car is also likely to pack a turbocharged 1.6L engine. Just as a reminder, Hyundai also used this engine last year for the i30 facelift. There are also rumors indicating that customers may be able to expect a hybrid variant of the 2016 Hyundai Elantra. However, the hybrid variant won’t make it on day 1 (launch day). Well, at least, that is what reported by the IndianAutosBlog, quoting the Auto Hankung. Last but not least, the launch of the next generation Elantra will most likely take place next month.
