After a slow start to 2015 sales, the Ford (NYSE: F) F-150 is slated to be the most effective selling auto, a location it has held for decades.
Ford marketed 65,192 of the F-150 pick-ups in November, up 10.4 %. The introduction of a brand-new version of the automobile earlier in the year slowed down sales. The partly light weight aluminum automobile, evaluating hundreds of pounds less that its predecessor, had sales hindered by manufacturing plant back up. The is one reason total F-150 sales rose just 2.3 % for the first 11 months of the year to 695,143.
F-Series sales were well ahead of it competing, GM’s (NYSE: GM) Chevrolet Silverado. It will be difficult for Silverado sales to shut that gap. General Motors offered 537,552. Silverado pick-up in the first 11 months of the year. This number was up 13.9 %. The third location RAM pick-up, developed by Fiat Chrysler (NYSE: FCAU) dropped well behind with YTD sales of 407,981, up 3.1 %.
