Protoscar Lampo 2

What the hell is that? Apparently it’s some type of sports car that has been leaked ahead of its official launch at the Geneva Motor Show later this year. We’re not sure who authorized the design for this but it is different to say the least.

We know it’s based on General Motors Kappa platform which underpins the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky (in Europe the Opel GT).

As we said before, the design is odd; it is powered by twin electric motors (one per axel) and a lithium ion battery pack. Solar cells are mounted on the back to help its range. All this gives it a combined horsepower of 408 with 472 pound-feet of torque and 0-62 miles in about five seconds with a top speed maxing out at 124.

So far that’s all we know, but we’ll be hearing more shortly, so stay tuned.
